POONCH, Sept 23: The dead body of a 35-year-old man was fished out from Suran river in Dhundak area of Surankote in Poonch district today.
The deceased was identified as Faiz Akbar, son of Mohammad Azam, resident of Phagla in Surankote. The dead body recovered by a police team and locals.
The locals said the man allegedly jumped into the river and washed away and later his body was recovered about 500 ft down stream.
SHO Surankote, Insp Rajveer Singh said that he was suffering from a disease as per preliminary enquiry. He was with canola set fitted on body for fluids transfusion.
“Inquest proceedings under 174 CrPC has been initiated into the incident”, he added.
