UDHAMPUR, Mar 6: Showing deep anxiety over the drug abuse and drug trafficking in the State, JKNPP president & former MLA Balwant Singh Mankotia today met DGP Dilbag Singh at Jammu and appealed for making stern action against drug peddlers.
He informed DGP about the loss of so many lives of youngsters due to drug abuse during the past years and demanded strict action forthwith.
Mankotia also informed DGP of the efforts being made by him against the drug menace by conducting Marathon during the previous days in which scores of youth participated. Mankotia said that drug trafficking is done from Punjab and Kashmir to Jammu, Samba and Kathua, which needed to be checked for which strict action must be taken against drug peddlers.
Mankotia assured the full support of general public to administration for eradicating drug menace and also sought all facilities at Drug de-addiction Centre at Police Line Udhampur.
DGP Dilbagh Singh appreciated Mankotia for the various steps being taken by him for eliminating drug menace. He assured Mankotia of taking stern action against menace and said that Police will not allow the drug mafia to spread its network in the State.
