Manipur attack martyrs cremated with full military honours in Jammu

JAMMU : The jawans martyred in Manipur militant attack, were cremated today with full military honours at their native villages in Samba and Jammu districts.
The jawans of Six Dogra Battalion who got martyred in Manipur were cremated in Vijaypur area of Samba, Muthi, Akhnoor and Gharota villages of Jammu district.
The martyred jawans were identified as Naib Subedar Ram Singh, resident of village Swankha Morh, Vijaypur, Havaldar Satpal Bhasin, village Muthi, Lance Naik Kuldeep Raj, village Burn, Gharota, Havaldar Sunil Kumar Sharma, village Phal, Sunderbani, District Rajouri, Havaldar Randeep Singh, Village Bomal, Akhnoor, Sepoy Vijay Kumar, village Serh, Kharah, Khour, Akhnoor.
At Muthi and Gharota villages, Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh paid tributes to the martyred soldiers.
He expressed condolences with the bereaved families. Meanwhile at Akhnoor, GOC 10 Div attended the last rites of the jawans and paid the tributes.
The bodies were brought early today while the wreath laying ceremony was held at Tiger Division, Satwari. Senior Army officers, civilians and politicians paid floral tributes to the martyrs.
