Mani Mahesh Yatra to be held in two phases

JAMMU, July 31: Shri Mani Mahesh Yatra will be held in two phases. The first batch of the yatra starts from August 1 both on foot and by buses.
The yatris perform the bath in the holy Dal lake on August 15 on the occasion of Shri Krishna Janam Ashtami.
This was stated by Mani Mahesh Yatra Dal in a statement here today. It said the second and the main Chhari of Shri Mani Mahesh yatra will start on August 15 by foot and on August 21 by buses along with Chhari Mubarak from the various district headquarters of the J&K State.
It said the Mani Mahesh Yatra of erstwhile Doda district after assembly on August 20 at Shiv Mandir Ghuraka will start along with Chhari Mubarak on August 21. From Shiv Mandir Ghuraka to Shiv Mandir Bhalla the yatra will proceed on foot and then in buses from Shiv Mandir Bhalla to Bhaderwah. After performing darshan of Shri Laxmi Narayan Ji at Bhadarwah, the yatra will leave for Chamba HP via Padhri Dhar on the same day and the devotees will perform the bath at holy Dal lake on August 28 on the eve of Shri Radha Ashtami and the return journey will start on the same day after crossing the holy Dal.
