JAMMU, July 18: In a day light incident, two bike riders today snatched a gold ‘mangalsutra’ of a woman in Indira Colony lane at Old Janipura and escaped.
The woman Anuradha wife of Bhupinder Kumar R/o Indira Colony had boarded of a matador and was heading towards her house when two motor-cycle riders intercepted her and snatched her gold ‘mangalsutra’.
Both the accused fled on the motor-cycle. The incident took place at about 3 pm.
Police parties later reached the spot and recorded statement of the woman. No arrests have been made so far.
The ‘mangalsutra’ was valued at Rs 45,000.
A case has been registered at Janipura police station.
