Man nabbed with smuggled liquor

RAJOURI, Jan 2: Kandi police arrested a man along with smuggled liquor.
As per police sources, on specific input, a team from Kandi Police Station laid a naka at Mandir Gala on Rajouri-Kandi road and intercepted a pedestrian.
During checking, police recovered 52 pouches of illicit liquor and 5 bottles of wine from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him.
The accused identified as Kamal Singh, son of Jagdev Singh, a resident of Sakri was carrying the illicit liquor to his native village for selling among the people to make illegitimate profits.
A case under FIR Number 2/18 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Kandi and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Kandi Inspector Manzoor Ahmed Kohli made the arrest under the supervision of DySP Operations Sukhdev Singh and SSP Rajouri Yougal Manhas.
