JAMMU, Apr 7: A man was murdered by his own brother in Arnia area of city outskirts.
According to a police sources, the deceased identified as Jagbir Singh (32) son of Puran Singh, resident of Pindi Camp (Arnia), was a habitual drunkard and used to beat his family members daily in inebriated condition.
They said last night also, Jagbir Singh returned home in inebriated condition and started abusing and beating his family members. They said in the scuffle with the family members, his brother hit him with a blunt object due to which he died.
“Arnia police has registered a case under Section 302 in this connection and started investigations. However, no arrest has been made till now”, the sources said, adding that body of the deceased was today handed over to his legal heirs for last rites after conducting post mortem at Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu.
