JAMMU, Jan 12: Pargwal police arrested a man along with illicit liquor pouches.
As per police sources, a team from police post Pargwal laid a naka and intercepted a person on suspicious grounds.
During checking, police recovered 20 pouches of illicit liquor from the possession of the man and arrested him on the spot.
The accused has been identified as Sikander Singh, son of Karnal Singh, a resident of Khour.
He was carrying the illicit liquor pouches to his native village for sale among the masses on exorbitant rates.
A case under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered against the accused at police station Khour and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge Pargwal police post SI Rajinder Khajuria made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Khour Mohammad Iqbal Chagatta, SDPO Akhnoor Naresh Singh, SP Rural Rajiv Pandey and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
