RAMBAN, Oct 3: Police arrested a man along with 38 pouches of illicit liquor here today.
As per police sources, on specific information, police team from Ramban police station laid a naka near Shan Palace on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway and intercepted a person carrying carton on suspicious grounds.
During checking of the carton, police recovered 38 pouches of illicit liquor and arrested the accused on the spot.
He has been identified as Mohammad Shafi, son of Wazir Khan, a resident of Chamba, Seri.
A case under FIR Number 102/15 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at Ramban police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Ramban police station Inspector Ajay Chib made the arrest under the supervision of SSP Ramban Randeep Kumar.
