Man held for theft of donation box at Ziarat

POONCH, Jan 4: The police has arrested a villager for the theft of donation box along with cash from a shrine ( Ziarat) in Loran area of tehsil Mandi in Poonch district.
Reports said that theft took place in the intervening night of December 31 and January 1 in the famous Ziarat of Chandan Shah Badshah at Khadappa in Loran area of Mandi. The donation box made up of steel had been broken and the cash (offerings) stolen. After this theft, people of the area thronged police station and demanded immediate arrest of the accused persons.
Upon this, the SHO Loran PP Singh registered a case FIR No. 01/2015 and set up police team led by ASI Mohd Rashid on the direction of SSP Poonch J S Johar and started investigation. The police team picked up several suspects and placed them under sustained interrogation. During the process one Mushtaq Ahmed, son of Ghulam Mohd, resident of Khet village in Loran broke and revealed that he had broken the donation box after entering into the Ziarat on that night at around 1 am (midnight). He also disclosed that an amount of Rs 3856 was there in the donation box which he had stolen.
The police recovered the stolen money and finally arrested the accused person today. With this, the theft case at famous Ziarat of the area was solved. The locals of the area have appreciated the prompt police action.
