JAMMU, Jan 4: Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party chairman and former Minister, Harshdev Singh has expressed grave concern over the escalation of tensions on the borders and the creation of war like situation there resulting in untold sufferings for the border residents.
He said that Pakistan’s persistent and violent posturing during the last couple of months had resulted into large scale migrations, loss of precious lives besides extensive damage caused to cattle, agriculture fields, houses and standing crops. He said that with Pakistani rangers hell-bent upon in unleashing gun fire and unprovoked mortar shelling, the border residents in several thousands were dislocated and made to suffer untold miseries.
Strongly flaying the Central and the State Governments for utterly in-adequate and poor response to deal with the crisis where thousands of families had been uprooted, he said that the affected families were highly critical of the respective Govts for their apathy and callous approach in mitigating their woes and concerns.
Ridiculing the claims of the BJP Govt of adopting tough stand against Pakistan, he said that it was the same BJP party which had attributed the Pak’s mis-adventures in the past to the UPAs diplomatic failures and latter’s so called imbecility.
He held the Union Govt responsible as well as answerable to the people residing on International Border and LoC for the untold miseries being faced by them.
