JAMMU, Jan 18: Police in Gujjar Nagar locality here have arrested one individual, who, along with some other persons, allegedly wielded weapon to terrorise people on the night of Lohri.
Shubham Kumar (28) of Dogra Hall Jammu was arrested and booked under the relevant sections of the law after a video of the incident went viral on social media.
“Taking cognisance of a video, wherein some individuals could be seen abusing and terrorising people by brandishing weapons in the air, we’ve arrested one person,” a police officer said.
He added that the CCTV footage of the area is being investigated to identify and arrest other accused.
Asked whether any weapon has been recovered from the possession of the accused arrested, the police said, “these details cannot be shared now since the matter is under investigation.”
