JAMMU, Apr 29: A man was found hanging today in Jourian area of Akhnoor.
“The deceased has been identified as Surjeet Singh (37) son of Surinder Singh, resident of Pangali Colony (Khour),” a police official said. He said the deceased was found hanging with a fan at his residence this afternoon after which the family members rushed him to Primary Health Centre (PHC) Jourian, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors.
The official said that after getting conducted postmortem at PHC Jourian, the body was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites while inquest proceeding under 174 CrPC was initiated in this connection at police station Khour.
He said the deceased was from a well off family and had returned some time back after spending about eight years abroad.
