JAMMU, Nov 4: The dead body of a man was recovered today from lower Gumat area, where it was lying along the road.
“At about 10.30, Police Post Hari Market received a call that a male body is lying near Life Line Fitness Centre in lower Gumat area after which a police reached the spot and shifted the body to Government Medical College and Hospital for postmortem”, a police official said.
He said after getting postmortem the body was handed over to its legal heirs for last rites and inquest proceeding under 174 CrPC initiated by the police. He added that the deceased man identified as Kamal Kumar (52) son of late Mohan Lal, resident of 184, Kanji house (Hari Market), was a habitual drunkard and used to come home late night but last night he did not return home.
