RAMBAN, Feb 25: A villager found dead on hilly track in Chanderkote area of district Ramban last evening.
The deceased was identified as 29-year-old Pardeep Singh, son of Pritam Singh, resident of village Ganote. It was raining when he left for his village on- foot from Chanderkote on Friday evening. He slipped on the hilly track and fell into a gorge. The next day, family members started his search. He could be traced lying in a gorge on Sunday evening. The police party from Ramban reached the spot and shifted the body for postmortem to local hospital.
It was later handed over to the family for last rites. It was believed that villager apparently died due to heavy rain and cold conditions as the gorge was not so deep. Further investigation was in progress.
