Man found brutally murdered

UDHAMPUR, Sept 22: In a blind murder case in Majalta area, a middle aged man was bound dead with multiple injuries by some sharp edged weapon, here last night.
The deceased, identified as Mangu Ram (55), son of Dullu Ram of village Sonal under the jurisdiction of Majalta Police Station, was found dead at Thial, Morha Galtar near a pond He was brutally murdered by unidentified persons by inflicting multiple injuries on him with some sharp edged weapon.
According to family members of the deceased, Mangu Ram had left home in the early morning for grazing domestic animal and didn’t return till noon. After the family members started looking for him, they found his body lying in a pool of blood near the pond, late last night.
On being informed, a police team reached the spot and shifted the body to mortuary room of PHC Majalta. After postmortem and completion of all the legal formalities, the body was handed over to the family members while a case FIR number 69 under section 302 IPC was registered in this regard and investigations were going on.
In another incident, dead body of an unidentified man was found in a Nallah at Karan Nagar, Ward number 6, opposite Pine Villa Guest House Udhampur. Police shifted the body to hospital for postmortem and registered a case in this connection.
Meanwhile, Police said that the woman who was found dead in Birma Nallah yesterday, has been identified as Arti Devi (40), wife of Rajinder Kumar of Gandala Udhampur.
