DODA, Mar 17: A man was crushed to death by a speedy and rashly driven Tata Mobile near Kalnai Bridge area, falling under the jurisdiction of Thathri Police Station. However, acting swiftly, police arrested the accused driver.
As per police sources, a Tata Mobile, which was on its way to Kishtwar from Thathri, hit a person near Kalnai Bridge.
In the incident, a man identified as Javed Iqbal, son of Bashir Ahmed of Bathri, at present Thathri, District Doda died on the spot.
After getting information, police team rushed to the spot and shifted the body of the deceased to the morgue of the hospital for autopsy, which will be conducted tomorrow.
A case under relevant sections has been registered at Thathri Police Station and the driver identified as Ashiq Hussain, son of Abdul Rehman of Kokernag Kashmir has been arrested.
