RAMBAN, Oct 28: A man has been arrested with smuggled liquor from Bowli Bazaar area, falling under the jurisdiction of Ramban Police Station.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Police Station Ramban laid a naka near Bowli Bazaar and intercepted a pedestrian, who was moving under mysterious circumstances.
During checking, police recovered 87 small bottles of smuggled liquor from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Sajad Ahmed, son of Gulzar Ahmed of Verinag, District Anantnag.
A case under FIR Number 174/18 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered against the accused person at Police Station Ramban and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Ramban Vijay Kotwal and accompanied by SI Farid Ahmed made the arrest under supervision of DySP Headquarters Ramban Asgar Malik, Additional SP Ramban Sanjay Parihar and SSP Ramban Anita Sharma.
