JAMMU, Dec 14: Gajansoo police arrested a man and recovered large quantity of illicit liquor pouches from his possession.
As per police sources, based on reliable information, a team from Gajansoo police post laid a naka and asked a pedestrian to stop as he was moving under suspicious circumstances.
On seeing police cops, the man tried to escape from the spot, but the cops nabbed him after a brief chase.
During checking, police recovered 67 pouches of illicit liquor from the possession of the man and arrested him.
The accused has been identified as Rinku Kumar, son of Shamsher Singh, a resident of Gajansoo. He was carrying the illicit liquor pouches to his village for selling among the people for illegitimate profits.
A case under FIR Number 182/16 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at Domana police station and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge Gajansoo police post SI Ashok Bazaz made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Kanachack police station Inspector Rajesh Sharma, SDPO Domana SK Sharma and SP Rural Arun Gupta.
