Man arrested for sharing obscene pictures, videos

JAMMU, Aug 3: A man has been arrested for sharing obscene pictures and videos by Cyber Police Jammu.
As per official sources, on July 31 this year, a written complaint was submitted by a victim (name withheld) of District Kupwara, at present Jammu stated therein that an unknown person started threatening and black mailing her through WhatsApp messenger and Instagram by sending her morphed videos and pictures and also the said unknown person made viral these photographs and videos through online social media platforms.
On this information, a case FIR Number 41/2022 under sections 66-E/67/67-A IT Act was registered at Cyber Police Station Gandhi Nagar and investigation of the case was entrusted to Inspector Javid Chowdhary of Cyber Police Station Jammu.
On further investigation and technical analysis, a person namely Askhay Dogra, son of Ashok Kumar of Gangyal District Jammu surfaced in the commission of said crime.
SP Operation Naresh Singh constituted special teams comprising of Inspector Javid Chowdhary and Inspector Ravi Kant, along with other police officials under the supervision DSP Cyber Wasim Hamdani.
The team acted swiftly and raided on different suspected locations and apprehended the accused and blackmailer. Three mobiles and one laptop were recovered from the possession of the accused and it was found that the said accused have used the 3 mobiles for the commission of above said crime.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
