JAMMU, Dec 25: Bishnah Police arrested a man, who had kept tortoises illegally.
As per police sources, on reliable information a team from Police Station Bishnah led by SHO Inspector Joginder Singh under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Shabir Khan conducted raid and apprehended a man, who had kept wild species (tortoise) illegally at his residence. Police team also recovered 6 tortoises from the possession of the arrested man.
The arrested person was identified as Sunny Kumar alias Sunny, son of Baldev Raj of village Kothey Bulanday Tehsil Bishnah District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 186/2021 under Sections 48 and 48-A Wild Life Protection Act has been registered against the arrested person and investigation set into motion.
