Man arrested for defrauding Amarnath pilgrims

JAMMU, July 4: Nowabad police arrested a man for defrauding Amarnath pilgrims by issuing fake registration slips.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged by Parmod Kumar Patra, son of K C Patra of Odisha with Police Station Nowabad that the registration slip for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra which had been issued to him appeared to be fake.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 102/19 under section 420, 467, 468 and 471 RPC was registered at Police Station Nowabad and investigation was initiated.
Based on statements of witnesses and leads developed during investigation, it was found that a person identified as Sanjeev Sharma, son of Bachan Lal of Shanti Nagar Jammu was involved in issuing fake registration slips to unsuspecting pilgrims.
A team from Nowabad Police Station led by SHO Inspector Bimal Indu arrested the person immediately.
Further investigation in the matter is underway.
