The incidents of man animal conflict are increasing at an alarming rate in erstwhile Doda district with people blaming Wildlife Department for not doing much to control the damages caused during these wild animal attacks. Some children were also killed. People in several villages of Doda district are living under constant threat due to frequent leopard attacks on humans, livestock and orchards.
The people of entire District including Bhalessa, area do not venture out of their homes after the sunset and the parents are reluctant to send their wards to the educational institutions/tuition classes fearing attacks.
It is astonishing to note here that District Doda has no control room as of now and no expert team reaches here to stem the rot in the wake of rising incidents.
