REASI, Oct 6: National Conference State secretary and former minister Abdul Gani Malik today cautioned against the divisive and reactionary forces, saying that inclusiveness of Jammu and Kashmir would not be allowed to be trampled for petty political gains by opportunistic elements.
“National Conference has all along fought forces inimical to the unity of Jammu and Kashmir and will do so by offering any sacrifice”, Malik said while addressing workers at Chasassan Pass in Reasi district this afternoon.
He stressed that no society can progress if its foundations are laid on myopic considerations. He decried the alliance partners for whipping up passions just to hide their failures on governance front. He, however, exuded confidence that the people will reject their reactionary machinations and maintain time tested amity.
“This (secular bonding) is the spirit which has all along guided National Conference”, he said adding that this is why the people, irrespective of caste, creed and colour were feeling secure under its umbrella.
The former minister said PDP-BJP’s opportunistic politics have led to policy paralysis in the Government as a result of which the people of the State were suffering on all fronts. He said the coalition has abdicated its responsibility towards the State that has led to developmental and administrative inertia. “The people are running helter-skelter in pursuit of redressal to their problems but the Government is nowhere to be seen,” he added.
Responding to the local issues raised by the people, Mr Malik assured that the same would be take up at appropriate levels for immediate redressal.
