Make mediclaim scheme hassle free for migrants: SKS

JAMMU, June 5: Sampooran Kashmiri Sangathan (SKS) in its meeting today held under the chairmanship of Anoop Kaul while highlighting various problems of displaced Pandits has expressed the hope that NDA second led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi will take all steps in settling the problems of the community compounded over the years.
The meeting said the rehabilitation issue of the Pandits is a long pending demand of the community and SKS has already submitted a road map to Government in this regard. It expressed the hope that the Government will take all steps in settling the issue as per the aspirations of the community.
The meeting however took a sigh of relief over the initiative taken by the Government regarding mediclaim scheme for displaced people and said this has been a long pending demand of the SKS.
Addressing the meeting president SKS Rakesh Kaul said that the cumbersome procedure adopted in the scheme be removed and medical cards should be provided to all displaced people to take benefit of the scheme and patients admitted in private hospitals be also be brought under its purview.
SKS general secretary, Bharat Kachroo has appealed the Governor that the facility should be extended to displaced people in other parts of the country like Delhi, Bangalore, Chandigarh etc. He also demanded that the scheme be made hassle free.
The meeting demanded that that honorarium for councilors be hiked as Rs 4000 and Rs 5000 as announced for them, is a meager amount as this is a cheating for the councilors. He demanded that the BJP leaders who had promised a good honorarium to them should keep their word.
