SRINAGAR, Dec 18:
Security forces averted a major tragedy when they detected and successfully defused a live shell in border town of Kargil at Ladakh region, official sources said here today.
They said security forces detected a live shell, which was fired by Pakistani Army during Kargil war. The road on either side was closed, they said, adding a team of Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) of the State police and Army successfully defused the live shell without causing any damage.
They said had it not been detected and defused it would have caused much damage to life and property. (AGENCIES)
