Mahima, Sunny, Vijay clinch top three positions in preliminary round on day-4

REASI, Oct 3: All India Devotional Song Competition being organized as part of Navratra festival entered day-4 at Yog Ashram Complex Katra, here.
The traditional lamp was lit by Additional Development Commissioner Ramesh Kumar and Celebrity singer Balraj in presence of Chairman Devotional Song Committee and President Hotel Association Katra Rakesh Wazir, Station Superintendent Katra Railway Station Jugal Kishore Sharma, SSE Railways Subash Chader, Yog Acharya Swami Yoga Nand ji Maharaj, Former Winner Khushi Shubh, Virender Kesar, Sardari Lal Dubey and Ajay Sharma.
In the preliminary round of the competition on fourth day, Mahima Choudhary from Jammu took 1st position and 2nd position was bagged by Sunny Sandeep from Batala. The third position was secured by Vijay Kumar from Himachal Pradesh.
The top three winners of the preliminary round were awarded with cash prizes of Rs 10,000, Rs 5,000 and Rs 3,000 respectively.
The Competition was adjudged by the panels of experts in music including Celebrity Singer Balraj, Dr Usha Bhagati Ex-HoD Music of many degree colleges including PG MAM College Jammu, Dr Surinder Kumar Sharma HoD Government Degree College Sunni Shimla and Dr CL Verma Ex-Chairman Post Graduate University of Himachal Pradesh.
Famous celebrity singer Balraj enthralled the audience with his melodious songs and the total environment of the venue became spiritual and the people were seen dancing on his tunes. Khushi Shubh, who is former winner of this All India Devotional Song Competition, also sang Soufiyana songs.
The proceeding of competition was conducted by Rakesh Wazir, Chairman of the Competition who while speaking informed that famous singers and former winners who are lined up for their guest performances on the stage include Jaan Heer and Anshu Sharma on October 4, Dr Sumangal Arora and Chaman Lehari on October 5, Rampy Saaz and Nikhil Majotra on October 6.
It is worth while to mention here that the first position holders of daily competition will compete with the winners of the quarterfinal on October 6 for their entry into final and the quarterfinal will be held on October 5, which will be for second and third position holders of daily competition. The grand finale of the All India Devotional Song Competition will be held on October 7.
Romesh Kumar while speaking on the occasion said that it is good that promotion of Tourism is being done in a good way through Navratra Festival and hoped that this festival’s positive effects will continue in future as well.
An impressive laughter competition was also held on the occasion, which was adjudged by the adjudicators namely Satya Rishi, Devinder Thakur, Ajay Badyal, Aditya Bhanu and National comedian celebrity Mintoo.
Out of 20 contestants from various States, Anil Koul Chingari from Jammu was adjudged 1st, while Prince Garg from Himachal Pradesh and Ishaan Mansotra were declared 2nd and 3rd respectively. The winners of 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions were presented a cash prize of Rs 21, 000, 15,000 and 10,000 respectively.
