JAMMU, May 18: Pradesh Mahila Congress activists today held strong protest demonstration outside the residence of Dy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh and offered bangles to him and other BJP Ministers for the surrender of AIIMS and Artificial Lake project.
A large number of Mahila Congress workers led by State president and former MLA Indu Pawar, reached the official residence of Dy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh in the morning and started protest demonstration. They were carrying banners and placards shouting slogans against the BJP leadership and Jammu Ministers for their total surrender and lack of strength to resist on the issues of shifting AIIMS from Jammu to Srinagar and now announcement by Chief Minister to shelve the prestigious multi-crore Artificial Tawi Lake project of Jammu.
They alleged that BJP Ministers have failed to show resistance and oppose the anti-Jammu move of the Valley based leadership. They questioned the BJP for its weakness which is behaving as mute spectator over the rights and interests of people on various issues for their lust of power. The women activists were holding bangles in hands during protest and offering to the Jammu BJP leaders.
While addressing the rally, Ms Pawar said that BJP has betrayed Jammu voters and compromised on all the important promises during the election campaign. The BJP legislators and Ministers from Jammu have totally surrendered the interests of the Jammu region and they should reply to the people who sent them to the Assembly.
