JAMMU, Apr 11: A meeting of Mahasha Sadar Sabha, Jammu City, was held here today under the presidentship of Som Raj Taroch, president, MSS, wherein the speakers criticized the recent appointment of MLCs.
The speakers condemned the Government for not giving due representation to Schedule Caste (SC) community in the Legislative Council, that too when there is provision under State Constitution to give due representation to weaker sections of the society in the nominated seats of the Upper House.
“The pick and choose method by ignoring the weaker sections of the society, who have been used as vote bank only by the successive political parties from time to time clearly indicates that the coalition partners—BJP and PDP are not different and they too are determined to use SCs to capture the power only on the cost of dedicated and senior most party workers belonging to SC community”, the speakers said.
In the meeting, the method adopted by the BJP in selecting the candidates was widely condemned whereby the party humiliated the senior most party worker of the BJP, Bansi Lal Bharti, whose name was proposed by the party itself on the basis of his services towards the party.
The Sabha decided to expose the real face of BJP at each and every forum of the community.
The others present in the meeting were Girdhari Lal, Koushal Kumar, BD Naryal, Jagdish Raj, Baldev Raj and Raj Kumar.
