Mahaganesh Foundation organises religious function

JAMMU, June 21: A religious function was organized by Shri Mahaganesh Charitable Foundation Hand Chawalgam at Ganesh Vihar Lower Muthi near here today.
A large number of devotees attended the function. On the occasion a Hawan was also solemnized. The devotees also paid obeisance to Mahaganesh and performed pooja archana on the occasion. The Foundation also laid the slab over 4000 sq feet Mata Gouri Bhawan which is being constructed in the temple complex by the Foundation.
The function was held under the chairmanship of Jagar Nath Handoo chairman of the Foundation. Giving details Foundation secretary, Prof O N Koul said that this year a grand religious function will be performed in the temple complex on Vinayak Chouram falling in September. He said 1111 diyas will be lit by devotees and each Diya will cost Rs 1111. This will be done for fund raising by the Foundation to accomplish its task of constructing an air condition hall.
He said the leading artists of the community will also take part in the programme for fund raising.  It may be recalled that the Foundation had constructed a grand Ganesh temple -a replica of its original temple in village Hanand Chawalgam in Kulgam district of South Kashmir at Ganesh Vihar Muthi some years back. The temple is of its unique kind in Jammu designed as per South Indian architecture.
