JAMMU, July 9: The Maha Jayanti of Bhagawaan Gopinathji was celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety today at Bhagawaanji’s Udaywala Ashram today.
Thousands of devotees drawn from different parts of Jammu and a large number of Sadhus thronged the Ashram and paid obeisance to Bhagawaanji.
The function was organized by Bhagawaan Gopinath Trust. It had made elaborate arrangements for the devotees and a large number of volunteers and activists of the Ashram were pressed in service to assist the devotees.
The function, started with Paduka Poojan by worshiping symbolic Paduka of Bhagawaanji by the devotees. This was followed by serving of prashad to Sadhus as has been a tradition from Bhagawaanji’s time in Srinagar. The Sadhus were also offered Dakshana to keep the tradition alive.
The Bhajan Kirtan in praise of Bhagawaan Ji by the devotees continued in the Ashram premises till late in the evening. The devotees were also served prashad.
The authorities had also deployed police personnel and Traffic police for maintaining order.
The Trust is devoted in the service of mankind to keep the Bhagawaanji’s message that “the Service to man is service to God’’.
The Mahayagaya was also celebrated at Bhagawaanji’s Ashram at Kharyar Sriangar in Kashmir valley, Greater Kailash, New Delhi, Amar Colony, Gole Gujral Jammu, New Mahavir Nagar, New Delhi, Kandivilli Mumbai, Pashan Pune and Bangalore in Karnataka.
