NEW YORK, Mar 3: The US Geological Service says a magnitude 6.7 earthquake has struck in the East China Sea north of the Japanese island of Okinawa.
The USGS said the quake occurred at 4:11 a.m. today with its epicentre located 110 km north-northwest of Nago, a tourist town in the northern Okinawa Island near a US Marine Base.
Its depth was given as 112.3 km. The US National Weather Service’s Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre says no tsunami is expected. There are no immediate reports of injuries or damage. (AGENCIES)
