JAMMU, Mar 17: Madan Lal Sharma, Member Parliament Jammu-Poonch constituency in a public meetings at Muthi Roop Nagar called upon the people to vote for Congress on development works done by the State and Central Government.
Mr. Sharma said that country has witnessed tremendous development in all spheres of life under UPA regime in the past 10 years including Jammu & Kashmir especially pro-poor schemes which have benefitted all sections of the society. He said that Central & State Governments have devised and implemented many schemes for urban poor by way of providing them shelter under RGAY and health cover and checkup under National Urban Health Mission. He said that UPA Government has passed Street Vendors (Protection of livelihood and regulation of street vending ) Bill.
Mr. Sharma said that under the present Regime Municipal Corporation has devised many programmes for the beautification of Jammu. He cautioned people to beware of the divisive people on the name of religion or region for their vested interest. He said that BJP has no stake in the State except giving hollow slogans and voting for such a party is wasting the vote. He asked the people to make best use of their vote and elect the Congress Party again. The Congress leader also highlighted the works done by him as MP in last 10 years and said that he accommodated all communities and areas of his constituency without any distinction of caste, creed and colour. He said that the continuous efforts of Congress and their follow-up had made Jammu Railway Division a reality.
Prominent among other present on the occasion includes Indu Pawar, (MLA) Swarn Singh block president, Raman Sharma, Kamal Pradhan, Babu Ram, Parmjit Singh, J L Koul, Som Nath Pandita and Ramesh Bhat.
