JAMMU, Apr 30: Lt Gen (Dr) Narendra Kotwal (Retd), a distinguished endocrinologist and son of the soil, has been conferred the prestigious Fellowship of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology (FACE) during the annual convocation of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology held in Las Vegas on April 24.
An alumnus of Government Medical College Jammu, Dr Kotwal completed his MBBS before pursuing MD in Internal Medicine from Armed Forces Medical College Pune. He further obtained DNB from the National Board of Examinations, MPhil from the University of Madras, and DM in Endocrinology from Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research Chandigarh. He is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, Edinburgh (FRCP Edin).
A former Director and Commandant of the prestigious AFMC Pune, Lt Gen Kotwal has held several leadership positions in the field of endocrinology. He is currently serving as President of the Indian Thyroid Society and has previously served as President of the Endocrine Society of India.
With over 115 publications in national and international journals, Dr Kotwal has made significant contributions to endocrine research and clinical practice. He is the Chief Editor of a pioneering textbook on Geriatric Endocrinology, the first of its kind in the field.
Beyond academia, he has been actively engaged in advancing the concepts of environmental and spiritual endocrinology, and is a sought-after speaker at national and international conferences.
