JALANDHAR, July 4: Lovely Professional University (LPU) retained the placement record as 3,500 students of the university were picked for the key profiles in the companies like WIPRO, Pepsico, Asian Paints, Indian Overseas Bank, etc.
This was disclosed by Ashok Mittal, Chancellor, LPU. He said that students got one of the best pay packages, cutting across various disciplines. The highest pay package accorded last year soared to Rs 6.75 lakh, which was awarded to MBA student, he said, adding, that in Engineering discipline, pay package went as high as Rs 5.9 lakh. Pharmacy students also performed exceptionally well and package rose to Rs 3.5 lakh.
In addition to this, students of other programmes, in the discipline of bio-technology, architecture, fashion technology, hotel management, etc, also performed well in the job market, he added.
He further added that at LPU, students are groomed in multi faceted way addressing their overall personality, present ability, communication skills, academic and technical skills and encashment of self confidence.
Mittal stated that the university maintains a strong liaison with various corporate bodies like CII, FICCI, TiE and others to assess the latest corporate trends with respect to HR requirements of the corporate sector, as well.
The placement department of the university works on the recommendations of these bodies to ensure that students are trained and groomed accordingly, he added.
