Locals protest for repair of Ramnagar-Choki Katwalt road

UDHAMPUR, Dec 8: Agitated over worst condition of Ramnagar to Choki Katwalt road, locals and students held a strong protest at village Choki against the Public Works Department (R&B) authorities, here today.

The protesting locals and students raised slogans against the PWD department and District administration for their failure to repair the road. They blocked the Ramnagar-Choki Katwalt road for about two hours and demanded immediate repair and black topping of the road.
The protestors said that due to worst condition of the road, the students use to get late to school whereas in case of a rainy day, Mini Buses does not ply on the road due to which students fail to reach school. “Despite manifold problems being faced by us for last many years, no action by the district administration and PWD authorities to repair the road has been taken,” they lamented.
Some locals of village Choki, Katwalt and adjoining area also joined the protest and threatened of launching an indefinite protest if the road is not repaired or blacktopped soon.
Narinder Singh Thakur, Saif Ali, Rashid Ali, Alam Hussain, Talib Hussain, Mam Din, Sher Din, Mushtaq Ali, Feroz Din, Gani Mohnd, Meed Din, Rashad Ali and many others were part of the protest.
