UDHAMPUR, Apr 29: Agitated over worst condition of the road of Ramnagar to Basantgarh and Dudu- Kirchi to Basantgarh, locals held a strong protest at Dudu against the PWD, PMGSY Department and District administration, here today.
The protesting villagers, led by Advocate and social activist Sanjit Bavoria, raised slogans against the PWD, PMGSY department and District administration for their failure to repair the Ramnagar to Basantgarh, Dudu-Kirchi to Basantgarh road for the last many years. They said that numerous complaints in this regard were lodged with the concerned authorities but there was no action till date.
The villagers lamented that because of extremely bad condition of the road, they were suffering immensely and facing hardship in performing daily routines as one- hour journey from Basantgarh takes at least 3 to 4 hours.
The protesting villagers threatened to gherao the concerned offices if no action is taken on their demand of immediate repair of the road.
