JAMMU, Nov 13: All the local Cable TV networks operating in Kathua have banned from broadcasting any news bulletins and any local programmes with immediate effect, unless they are duly certified by the competent authorities.
The order was issued by Additional District Magistrate, Kathua, G Prasana Ramaswamy, on November 12, 2014.
The order was issued after Media Certification and Monitoring Committee Team of District Election Cell reported that local cable channels are broadcasting political speeches and rallies disguised as news and thereby violating the guidelines of the Election Commission of India.
