LUCKNOW, Sept 8: Citing the murder of a Dalit youth in Uttar Pradesh’s Mainpuri, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati said that the rising incidents of murders in UP was revealing the truth about the claims of the Yogi government about the law and order situation.
In a tweet on Tuesday, Ms Mayawati said, “The murder of Dalit individual Sarvesh Kumar after repeatedly being beaten up in UP’s Mainpuri yesterday and the similar incidents with Govind Chauhan in Maharajganj, Rajvir Maurya in Shahjahanpur, Wasid in Bareilly, Sudhir Singh in Kushinagar and Vinod Garg in Banda (Brahmin) who was shot dead, are extremely sad.”
She added, “Apart from this, the murder of a cab driver in UP’s Noida only yesterday, reveals the truth about government claims as far as the law and order is concerned.”
Further, the BSP honcho said, “The Government should take stringent legal action against those who take law in their own hands and provide justice to the victims while giving them financial assistance also, this is the BSP’s demand.” (UNI)
