SAMBA, Apr 6: A free Eye Operation Camp was organized today by Lions Club Samba with the co-operation of District Health Society, Samba, here at Dina Nath Memorial Hall.
The camp was organized under the presidentship of Amardeep Singh and inaugurated by Dr DK Manyal, MLA Samba, in the presence of DDC Samba, Sheetal Nanda and SSP Samba, Anil Mangotra.
During the Camp, 175 patients were examined by a team of doctors and paramedical staff headed by Doctor Kul Rattan Anand. 21 patients were identified for operation at District Hospital Samba on April 7. Post operation care and check up will be done with the necessary diet, medicine and medical care provided by Lions Club Samba.
Meanwhile, MLA Samba donated Rupees five lakh from his Constituency Development Fund and put the amount on the discretion of the Club to spend the amount for welfare activities. Medical Superintendent, District Hospital, Samba, Dr Dimple Singh, assured full co-operation to the Lions Club Samba in future.
President, Lions Club Samba, Amardeep Singh with his team rendered full service in the Camp. While addressing the public gathering, Amardeep Singh requested the concerned authorities to provide adequate staff for proper functioning of the District Hospital Samba.
