KATHUA, Mar 5: A lineman of Power Development Department (PDD) was attacked and injured by a group of people at village Jakhbar.
The injured lineman was identified as Jai Lal, a resident of Jakhbar, District Kathua.
He was attacked by a family when he warned them for holding the illegal connection thereby creating fault in the power line.
The lineman was attacked with sharp edge weapon and sticks. He was shifted to a hospital in Nagri by local people and later referred to GMC Kathua for specialized treatment.
A complaint was also lodged with Nagri Police in this regard.
Meanwhile, the PDD Employees Association took serious note of such act of assault and demanded stern action against the family members.
