JAMMU, Feb 1: Principal Sessions Judge Kathua A K Koul today awarded life-imprisonment and fine of Rs 10,000 to Bikram Singh alias Tony, Bhadur Singh alias Gogli, both sons of Mangal Singh of Satoora Hiranagar and Tarlochan Singh, son of Ganga Ram of Kootah, who were facing trial for beheading one Raj Pal over a land dispute.
After hearing Public Prosecutor Ravi Kumar Gupta for the State, Principal Sessions Kathua A K Koul observed, “statements of witnesses including that of Investigating Officer do unerringly reveal that accused on account of some previous enmity hatched a plan to kill the deceased and they translated their plan into action on April 20, 2008 by beheading him”.
“Nothing can be cruel than what was done by the accused. They behaved like beasts in utter disregard to the human values and even the life of a human being and intentionally attacked him on the vital part of his body and chopped off his head”, the court said, adding “this is really a shocking crime and the law cannot afford to entertain any doubt about the involvement of accused Bikram Singh alias Tony, Bhadur Singh alias Gogli and Tarlochan Singh given the facts and evidence on record”.
With these observations, Court convicted all the three accused and awarded them life imprisonment for commission of offence under Section 302 RPC.
