Licenses of 12 wholesale drug outlets cancelled for violating norms

JAMMU, Jan 21: Drug and Food Control Organization (DFCO), Jammu today cancelled licenses of 12 wholesale drug establishments for violating norms and conditions of the licenses as mandated under the relevant provisions of Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 and rules there under.
The firms whose licenses have been cancelled are M/s Suman Medical Agencies (148, Malhotra Street, Jammu), M/s Santax Agency (Exchange Road, Jammu), M/s SA Distributors (Janta Market, RN Bazar, Jammu), M/s JGGI Medical Agencies (below Hotel Airlines, Jewel Chowk, Jammu), M/s Aphis Pharma (147, Talab Khatikan, Jammu), M/s Associated Medical Agencies (37, Vir Marg, Jammu), M/s Cure Pharmaceuticals (KC Plaza Market, Jammu), M/s AK Traders (85, RN Pura, Jammu), M/s SG Pharma (69, RN Pura, Jammu), M/s Satyam Medical Agency (RN Pura, Jammu), M/s Medi Drug Associates (Paul Market, Shalamar Road Jammu) and M/s JK Medicos (City Chowk, Kanak Mandi, Jammu).
The licenses of these establishments were cancelled by Licensing Authority, Mohd Iqbal Palla (Deputy Drugs Controller, DFCO Jammu), as they did not reply to the notices served upon them for breach/violations of the relevant provisions/conditions of the licenses, within the stipulated time period of 15 days. They also failed to give any reply to the final show-cause notices served upon them through public notice in leading newspapers dated 30-12-2022.
