LG Mathur convenes Civil Society Convention

LEH, Dec 14: Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh RK Mathur chaired a Civil Society Convention organized by the Administration of Union Territory of Ladakh at DC Office Conference Hall today.
Advisor to LG Umang Narula, Commissioner/Secretary Rigzin Samphel, Divisional Commissioner/Secretary Saugat Biswas, Deputy Commissioner Leh Sachin Kumar, Chief Conservator Forest Prithpal Singh, founders/directors of several NGOs of Leh and Kargil districts were also present.
LG appreciated the wide range of subjects being dealt with by the NGOs with an enormous level of technical knowledge, sincerity, and dedication. He particularly appreciated the participation of the NGOs of Kargil district.
LG stated that Government would support them in their endeavor. He said that there should be sharing of ideas for the greater benefit of the society at large.
Fifteen NGOs gave their power-point presentations about their objectives, work and future projects and issues therein.
Commissioner/Secretary Rigzin Samphel concluded that this would set a new era of synergy between the Government and the Civil Society.
