This has reference to the news item ‘PDP boycotts Assembly for rest of Session ‘DE Mar 14.
It is very dismaying that half of the Assembly session passed without transacting any fruitful business. This session witnessed nothing else than walkouts, sloganeering verbal and physical duels. The boycotted by the main opposition party PDP for the rest of session has added another dimension to Assembly affairs.
The elected representatives should keep in mind that they are not representing just one section of society but the whole of State. It will be great dis-service to the State in case the problem faced by the people are not given due consideration in the august House.
Besides, unruly scenes as witnessed in the House creates an ugly impression of our representatives on the minds of people.
Let us hope that the rest of session runs smoothly and takes up matter for discussion which directly or indirectly affects the people of the State.
