MENDHAR, Jan 5: A leopard was found dead near a cave in Dhar Galoon area of tehsil Mendhar in district Poonch today.
Reports said that villagers found a female leopard lying dead near a cave and informed Forest and Wild Life officials at Mendhar. Later, Range Officer along with other officials and a Veterinary doctor moved to the site. After conducting postmortem, the body of the wild beast was disposed off in presence of Naib Tehsildar and SHO. It was established that leopard died of poison. The Wild Life Department officials have taken cognizance of the matter.
