Srinagar, Nov 2: The field executives of Legal Metrology Department have booked two iron stores for violating the weighing and measuring norms in Srinagar today.
A statement of the department said under the supervision of the Deputy Controller surprise inspections of Iron stores at Natipora, Nowgam, Hyderpora, Sanant Nagar were conducted.
“During the inspection, it was found that iron rods of 8mm, 10mm, 12mm etc were lesser in diameter by about 1mm which is clear violation of law. The Inspector, Legal Metrology, C-1, booked the offenders on spot under Sec 24 and Sec 28 of the Standards of Weights and Measures Act, 1997,” the statement said.
