Srinagar, Feb 21: The Legal Metrology Department today said that it has booked three traders for violating Essential Commodities Act.
A spokesman of the department said that prompted by public complaints that the traders of Habbak Crossing of Srinagar are indulging in fraudulent practices in weighments of essential commodities, the officers of Legal Metrology Department conducted surprise inspection of the locality and inspected and tested weights and scales of about 25 traders one by one with the standards.
“Three traders were booked for using defective weights and scales,” the spokesman said.
