Srinagar, Feb 21: Prof. G. R. Jan, former Director, Centre of Central Asian Studies (CCAS), University of Kashmir, has been granted the prestigious Emeritus Fellowship by the University Grants Commission (UGC), Government of India, for a period of two years in view of the recognition of his significant contribution to his area of research.
Prof. Jan is a well known scholar of Persian language and literature, and has a number of books and research papers to his credit.
