JAMMU, Jan 31: All J&K Plus-2 Lecturers’ Forum today stressed upon the formal formation of Vice-Principal Post in all the Secondary Schools of the Union Territory on the pattern of CBSE.
It was demanded during the monthly meeting which was organised virtually under the leadership of Provincial president Pardeep Singh Rakwal and RS Slathia, whereas the proceedings of the meeting were conducted by Ghar Singh (General Secretary).
The members stressed upon the need to release an advanced calendar of exams, syllabus and other instructions related to Board classes so as to avoid confusion and chaos among the students particularly at the time of exams.
It was also discussed regarding the health of the teaching fraternity which is at stake as the schools are open and the cases of COVID are increasing day by day. It was stressed that work from home can be granted to the teaching fraternity as the online classes are already going on. In some schools, there is a network issue, so online classes can be more effectively taken from homes with Wi-Fi. Moreover, as per the guidelines of Disaster Management it is notified that schools will open only for administrative purposes.
They requested Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to grant work from home option to the teaching faculty. It was also emphasized that the teaching community should be treated as frontline workers and a precautionary or third dose of vaccine should be given to them on priority.
In the meeting, light was also thrown on different pending issues of the Plus two fraternity including ACP, regularisation of all the pending subjects, implementation of transfer policy in fair manner, release of charge allowance in favour of Principals, provision of accommodation for Principals, Lecturers posted in other districts, filling up of posts of Principals and lecturers lying vacant for many years, repatriation of lecturers posted in remote areas after one year of service, induction of college quota in favour of Plus two lecturers, non -vocational status in favour of all the Principals and Lecturers who are officially engaged during vacations.
President Pardeep Singh Rakwal laid stress upon the need to work collectively to resolve all the pending issues.
Sudershan Chandel (Principal), Rajesh Suri (Principal), Charu Anand (Principal), Jyoti Prakash (Principal), Dr Ashok Kumar (Vice President), Dr Sushma (Vice President), Mulkh Raj and many others were present during the meeting.
